So this is in term of a shoot that involves a makeup artist, hair stylist and wardrobe stylist. But it also sets up the basic starter bag that you can build on depending on if your supplying clothing, or doing your own hair etc.
- face moisturizer, hand cream an lip balm- it really helps out the makeup artist if you've at least use lip balm in the half hour before having your makeup done. learnt that the hard way when a makeup artist friend of mine complained that my lips were too dry and it made applying lipstick difficult. So a general rule you should always have moisturizer, hand cream and lip balm in your bag, regardless of whether you're off to a shoot or not.
- make up remover, nail polish remover and face wipes- if you're like me and don't ware much makeup on a day to day basis, you may find a full done up face to be a bit intimidating for the train/bus trip home. on the other hand, you never know when someone else at the shoot has forgotten wipes or remover and you can come along and save the day :)
- water, straws and snacks that wont get stuck in your teeth- as i've touched on before eating is good, gives you energy. Most photographers will supply food but you should never expect it.
- nude undergarments- nude seamless g sting and strapless/stick on bra. Another tip i learnt the hard way. i wore black undergarments to a shoot only to find out the outfits were white. photographer was extremely disappointed and gave me a lecture about bringing all different styles of underwear to a shoot.
- deodorants, mints and perfume- now we don't want to over do it with the scents, but under the hot lights and close range of make up artists... trust me, they'll thank you.
